I am having a problem with my 95 GS. Around 3000 RPM I get a chattering noise from the lower part of the motor. Any ideas what it might be? If it's what i think it may be, should I rebuild or just swap it out?

is it a clangy kinda noise? it might just be that the heat sheids on the exhaust pipes rusted through and are falling off. jack up the car and rip them off. if its not what i think it is, then i wish you luck if its your motor and sorry for a stupid answer.

hehe, thats not a stupid answer. I was going to say the exact same thing. Ours was ratteling @ 3k also and I figured it had to be the heat shields, so from the cat forward I ripped them all off. Took about 30min cause all of the bolts were so FUBAR so I had to bend and twist and all that shit. Finally got it off and it was scilent as a mouse... untill the coilovers. But I fixed that too:). Then the trunk privacy cover... but thats fixed too now and no rattles... well besides for the window, center consol, airbag cover,...
