#5992, "Fuel Pressure, Nitrous Pressure, and EGT Gauges"

NOS is in the mail and I need a little help with gauges, I have a 3 gauge a-piller on the way from gaugepods.com. I'm going to buy Autometer Phantom 2-1/16" gauges.

1st-
Does the Nitrous Pressure gauge just intercept the nitrous line running from the bottle to the engine bay?
http://www.optauto.com/webstore/product_list.asp?dept=393&last=393

2nd-
When browsing www.optauto.com for Fuel Pressure Gauges- there is a $47 mechanical, a $78 electric, a $214 full sweep electric, and a $281 full sweep electric. This confuses me. Which do I need and how is is installed?

elect: http://www.optauto.com/webstore/product_list.asp?dept=392&last=392

3rd-
Does the EGT gauge come with the sensor? Where is it installed, the downpipe?
http://www.optauto.com/webstore/product_list.asp?dept=392&last=392

I'd appreciate it if someone could help me out with these questions, I've never installed any of these gauges before.

>2nd- Fuel Pressure Gauges- mechanical, electric, full sweep?

If you want the FP gauge in the cockpit, you need an electric gauge. Mechanical ones actually have a fuel line running to them so they can't be installed past the firewall. The cheep electrical one is probably a mechanical with electric sender. I have a mechanical one that I clip to my wiper blade while tuning.

Full sweep means the needle pivots from the center of the gauge face, regular ones pivot from the bottom of the gauge. Full sweeps are somewhat easier to read at a glance.

Pretty pictures are here: http://www.autometer.com/hp/index.html
You can try digital gauges too: http://www.cruzpro.com

Sometimes. Ask the retailer. With autometer gauges you usually have to buy a probe. http://www.autometer.com/hp/2001_catalog/competition/51.html

As close to the block as possible. Most accurate is one of the top runners on the exhaust manifold. Some ppl prefer to put it at the bottom, after the 4-1 junction.

Thanks, man... that autometer site helped a lot! I'm all clear on the Nitrous Pressure gauge and EGT gauge/probe issues now.

About Fuel Pressure gauges-
The $79.00 electric gauge says it includes an 1/8in. Electric Sender. The $180 electric gauge say it includes a Highly Accurate 1/8in. NPT Transducer Type Sender. Will the $79.00 gauge work? What the hell is an NPT Transducer Type Sender?

$79 gauge-

$180 gauge-

Does the sender just install inline with any pressurized fuel line in the engine compartment?
