has any one tried this? it seems that the neons have been using this filter for some time... they say that it fits almost perfect, it's only wider and not longer...

i'm almost ready for an oil change soon i'd like to know sum details on this...

Last time I changed my oil fiter I used a Mobil 1 filter. Just for shits and giggles I checked what the part number was for the Viper filter. As it turns out it's the same one.

They changed part numbers on the neons oil filter a couple years into production to use a shorter filter for ground clearane issues (that didn't really exist). I think the Viper filter and the old/original filter (the one still listed for us) is the same thing.

Smooth idle? We don't need no stinking smooth idle.

Yea the Viper oil filter is the same as ours and most every other Dodge/Chrysler/Jeep/Eagle car made.

At work, the Mileguard and Fram numbers are MO16 for most dodge products and then like MO3614 for the other Dodges, neons, stratus 2.4 etc

thanks that makes sense...

even though the viper filter isn't any longer then the neon filter, it's only wider... crhysler is funny sometimes...
