Who has the part number for the ARP main studs?

I was going to use the stock ones, but since my entire short block(all components including block) is cryo treated that would be the only part in the short block that remains stock. It is going to be assembled shortly and I want to order them this weekend.

Thanks MetalJim! I ran a few searches and could not find any main stud discussion.

The part number you have is good for the main studs. 141-5801

The head stud kit is 141-4202. Head studs have been talked about to death and it seems the first initial replies thought that is what I was asking about.

You guys can give me a bit of crap now and then. I figure if I can dish it out I should be able to bend over now and then...LOL

I also just wanted a good cross reference to back up my ordering. I am going local and they do not have a clue what works for my application.

If the store has an ARP account they should have the latest ARP catalog and it's ight in there listed under main studs. DOHC/SOHC Neon stud kit.

I will start making phone calls this week, as getting them locally might be difficult if ARP is out of stock of the main studs(summit has them back ordered).

Getting a head stud kit is easy with numerous vendors having them in stock.

Does anyone know who might have a main stud kit in stock. I will call howell, hahn and other 2gnt vendors listed Monday.

I am not familiar with the numerous neon vendors that have the high end parts....could you guys help me there. They have changed in the last couple years and I have not kept up.

Doesn't the ARP head stud kit come with everything needed.

Just curious why you needed extra washers.

Good research.....well done! I actually saved the entire thread a while back just in case the kit never actually made it to market.

I thought he bought a neon kit a while back, but he may have had to go the alternate route. I thought last night maybe he had his head milled and needed washers to make up the space in the studs.

I am sure he will reply though.

Well, I just got off the phone with ARP and they have the main stud kit in stock. It listed for $181.xx plus shipping.

My local connection goes through a distributor, which would mean too many hands involved for a special order(couple weeks).

I called Summit and they are drop shipping the order to me directly from ARP. Their cost was $137.xx plus their flat fee and $10 drop ship charge(total $156.44). They said I should have them within the week. I can live with that.

I called Blackdog and never got through. Not many people upgrade the main studs, so my guess is that nobody would have them in stock.

Not many people do not upgrade to main studs because with our block they are not needed due to the bedplate.

2.3L Stroker, AEM EMS Converted to Speed Density, FP3065 Turbo, 35psi , and so on...

Consider this:

1. 420 block bored .020 over- cryotreated
2. JE Pistons/rings 8.6:1 compression- cryotreated, ceramic coated domes and moly coated side skirts
3. Eagle H-beam rods- cryotreated
4. Clevite rod and main bearings- cryotreated and moly coated
5. Crank- cryotreated and balanced

That left me with upgrading to a ARP main stud kit. This block is as bullet proof as I can make it.

Just thought I would share what I have done so far. I hope to surprise people next year with some outrageous dyno numbers. For now I'm just building the block to take more than 600hp on C16 race gas and be as detonation proof as I can get.

I am just starting the head now and got side tracked with other purchases for the car that were too good to pass up.

Now, upgrading the main studs doesn't seem so outrageous does it...LOL
