I have a 97 Talon ESi and my friend and I pulled out the airbox and stuck a filter on the stock plastic/rubber hosing which kept falling off. We bought an actual intake pipe and it's still falling off even though we're ecuring it tightly. Does anyone else have this problem or have ideas what's causing it?

explain... so after it kept falling off the stock pipe, you bought an actually intake and stuck the filter on there and it's still coming off? how? did you use hose clamps and couplers like you're supposed to?

do you have a digicam. pictures mean a thousands words. is it cold air intake or ram air intake? you def. won't have that problem with a cold air intake.

No digi cam
It's not a CAI unfortunately, just a standard $50 APC job (funds are low right now).
The piping fits tightly because of the battery pushing against it so that shouldn't be moving too much if at all. The filter is sitting in the space where the air box was. It's not hitting the remaining piece from the air box, the only thing I can imagine it making any type of contact with is the ECU because that's right above it.
