I started my car yesterday and it ran like shit for about 10 seconds before the CEL came on. I turned it off and started it again. Ran fine.

I checked the code and it was 302 (Cylinder 2 misfire detected). I replaced the coilpack with a new one I recently bought. The original coil has 100k miles. I cleared the code and started it tonight. Runs like a champ. My question is - Is there anything other than the coilpack and wires that could cause code 302? I have Magnecores with about 60k miles. Should I change the wires while I'm at it? When I had the problem I checked to see if the wires were on good and they were.

Here's a picture of my new coil. The strut bar does a great job of getting in the way. Do we share the same coil with Neons? I was wondering because the logo is on the back side. I installed the new coil just like the old one, with the plug on the driver's side.

If the problem comes back (which it might. keep your fingers crossed), try swapping the wires from #2 to #3. Then reset and wait to see. If it's the wire, the CEL with move with the swap. End of problem.

The only other thing I can think of that may mess with your firing is the cam position sensor. Front drivers side corner of the head. Next to the EGR. That's what the ECU uses to determine timing advance/spark/etc.
