I did not want to start another thread, but the old one is already on page 3.

Old thread..

I went out again after checking a few things, the knock sensor being one of them, and datalogged some good full rpm runs. I really wish I could graph these but I have not figured it out yet. Here is whats happening now. When I punch it WOT at low RPM in any gear timing falls to 5 and climbs slowly. When rpms reach 3500 or so timing quickly goes to 18 to 20, car feels better up top but drives like a dog at low rpms.

Now this is just nuts.... When I shift into the next gear from 7000 rpms, (when I shift I let off the gas a little, etc) the timing will fall to -2 and climb up to 8 then kick to 18 before reaching 7000 rpms in that gear. Keep in mind that the entrance rpm of a second gear engagment from 7000 in first is somewhere in the 5000 rpm range. Everytime I shift from high rpms the timing just falls to a negative number and it feels wierd to punch it in the next gear and not continue to accelerate for a sec. It sort of throws you forward in your seat... negative timing sucks. In my previous post I was only datalogging low sub 4000 rpm driving cuase that is where the car is driven everyday and it runs like crap.

I noticed something else strange... my car has the heebe geebes (if thats how you spell it). It feels like I have no motormounts and that the engine is just bouncing around in the engine bay; it sounds like it too. Funny thing is, I have ES inserts front and back and know that they are there cause I can feel the vibrations. But whenever I get on the gas or off the gas the car just jerks like a mofo, I mean real bad like learning to drive a stick for the first time bad. Put into 4th at 40 MPH and just let on the gas let off the gas, you would swear the car was going to fall apart.

Could be a vacuum leak.... so I will check it tomorrow when there is light. Also, NO CELs. Not one. I am completely ???????????????

Log your MAP sensor. What is it doing? Mine shoots up to between 26 to 28 inHg as soon as I jump on it, and quickly pegs to 28.

I finally checked my vacuum.... 15-16 inches at idle 13 inches with A/C turned on. My maxima sucks 19 inches at idle and 17 with A/C on. So, I capped everything on the intake that I could (EGR, EVAP, Speed Sensor, etc. and drove it. Same results with everything.

But, today it rained here in Melbourne and was humid for the whole day. Today my car drove great, good low end response and when I punch it I get pushed into my seat. Plus no unusual timing problems showed on my datalogger. So I guess I should pray for a humid day if I want my car to drive well.

I will get those MAP numbers in a second, I left my datalogger at my store. I would also like to know what kind of timing advance people get at WOT in any gear under 3500 rpms.
