well it seems i have a problem with the head on my car. 99 gs in case that matters. one of the plug holes is stripped bigger than hell and the plug wire doesnt stay too well. i have to push it back in every few weeks. so it looks like i have to buy a new head. my question is woudl i be better off to buy a performance head or buy a stock one and have it ported and polished? or is there a way i can have the head worked on so it will function right? the car runs fine, it just misses when the plug wire isnt totally in there. i've heard i could put locktite on it or something...i'm just trying to make sure the lug wire stays. thanks for any help.

i thought the valve cover held the plug wires in. you may only have to replace that

Well first off, you don't NEED to buy a new head. It can be saved. There are these things made called spark plug thread savers. All it is is a steel insert with threads on the outside and inside. It also comes with a tap in some cases. Basically what is required is that you drill out the current stripped out hole with a drill bit (size should be listed on the package). Then use the tap they provide you and tap the new hole. Then thread the insert onto the special tool the give you and then thread it into the new hole. The insert is only partially threaded on the outside. The rest of it is like little spikes. Basically once you put that insert in it won't come back out. Now all you have to do is unthread the special tool you used to put in the insert and put in your spark plug.

How do I know all this? I'm brilliant and have done the same damn thing to my nicely ported and built head. emoji

PS - Your valve cover is fine.
