I was wondering the same thing. I just had my 60,000 done so I dont need a new belt. Is it hard to install just the gears? Can I take the stock ones off without moving the belt?
Sorry for the hijack.

As Dino and I discussed earlier...just buy an intake gear. You don't want to mess with your exhaust since the cam angle sensor is on that one. And messing with the exhaust won't help anyway.
And yeah dj, gotta move the timing belt to change your cam gear LOL

depends on how modded your car is and how much u can tune it...
Bill
gains only come from tuning
You can have it cheap, fast or good. Pick any two.
If you want it cheap and fast, it's not going to be good. If you want it cheap and good, it's not going to be fast. If you want it good and fast, it's not going to be cheap.

I am being quoted $740 for the garage to change and replace the timing belt and to replace old cam gears with new ones. The price of the new cam gears are included. I beleive they are AEM cg. Is this a good price?

Adjustable cam gears IMO, are the last resort for squeezing out the last few HP from the motor. I would only use a Dyno to tune them also, but most have seen around 5-7 wheel HP gain. Not that much really. But if you want the very last HP you can find, then i'd say go for it. Turbo applications seem to see more benefit from gears though, but even still, not a night and day gain..

oh and many people only use the intake gear and leave the exhaust alone so only buy 1...
get UR or crower or cranes...

THx guys for the help. So I should get an UDP or WPT? What are the gains for an UDP? If there is an easy to understand manual for dummies please point me to it. I really want to learn how all of this works and the benefits you gain from it. Not just the UDP and Cams gears but everything with the 420A and the mods for it. As you can see I have been into the show side of it but now want to add the power behind it all. Plus I want to learn how to do it myself if I could. tia
