#57014, "Replacing fuel pump"

Well I bought my GS back in April and its already being turboed. I had planned on saving up and getting HRC stage 2, but a buddy of mine sold me all his turbo stuff for dirt cheap and I couldn't pass it up. Just have to get a few extra things to keep the engine from blowing up. My question is how do I replace the fuel pump? Seems like I read that you can get to it by taking out the back seat and pulling that square panel off in the middle. Also, I have to get a fuel pressure regulator which I'll probably get from AEM. Anybody know the cheapest place to get one? Also looking for fuel pressure guage, boost guage, and possibly a turbo manifold. I have a weird header with this cap on the right side if I'm facing the motor. I don't know what the hell the cap is for. Anybody ever seen one of these? Any help is much appreciated. Oh by the way, car will be done painting near the end of this week. Pictures will be posted.

If you are regulating the amount of fuel by using a high rise rate regulator, then you need to add an inline pump to the stock one, not replace the stock one. If you are going to use larger injectors or more injectors, then you can use an intank replacement pump like the walbro. You can get to the fuel pump by removing the square panel under the rear seat (not the center one).

Again, if you are not using larger injectors, then you will need a high rise rate regulator such as the Vortech SFMU. I recommend that regulator simply because it's the best. If you are using larger injectors, or equivilant, then I recommend the aeromotive 1:1 adustable regulator. You can get it from summit for around $120 and it is very reliable.

Possibly a turbo manifold??? How are you going to turbo your car without a custom turbo manifold? JB Weld wont work emoji. I believe Motofool sells turbo manifolds on his website and I know that alain also makes them.

Post pictures... not sure what that would be for (certainly not for an external wastegate).

if you go with a Walbro, you need to modify the bracket that holds the pump...just drill a new hole is all...just a tip, so you don't try to break the bracket off trying to get it to fit right! emoji

I have a 99 GS. I don't know if I need a manifold or not. I have to figure out what that cap is for on my header. A friend of mine thinks its for a wastegate, but its not a turbo header. Every time I mention it he starts talking then says "on the other hand" and rambles a little then shakes his head in disgust because he doesn't know what it is. Another guy I know says its too small to be for a wastegate. I don't have a fucking clue what it is. Neither does anyone I've talked to. I'll end up having to go to a shop to find out what it is. Also, if any of you have a buddy that needs downpipe for a Supra, I have it. I think its 3 1/2" but I'm too lazy to actually measure it. I'll sell it for whatever. I don't know what it runs for. I'd trade it for a boost guage and fuel pressure guage. Not sure what those run for either. Anyway, fatedanchor@hotmail.com is my email if anyone is interested.

I don't know what kind of header it is. A friend of mine said it was a 4-2-1 header. And the outlet is already capped off. I don't know what the hell its for. I'll get a picture of it as soon as I can. Someone on here is bound to know what its for.

do you have an early model 2g? if so it might be because of the pulsed air injection. it was recalled and the hole was capped.
