#56858, "AEM Cam gears problems"

ok i went to the track and ran a 10.1 with a slipping clutch and bad motor mount. put in stage 4 clutch, aluminum flywheel, afx udp, and cam gears, and new motor mount and ran a 10.3. If feels like the car is just falling on its face in high rpms. I got the cam gears about 3 months ago from a friend that had them for awhile "never used" and it just doesnt seem like somethings right i double checked all the marks and they r fine but something just isnt right. I read about some of aem's gears being off could this be the case if so how can i tell if mine r like that.
any help would be great and thanks in advance for neone that responds

Depends on how old they are. The original AEM gears are designed for Neons.

what are your adjustments? Most guys run +4 intake and no exhaust change.

Do they have ones specifically designed for us now?

Also, did you remember that the marks on the AEM cam gears are not correct? You have to re-mark them with marks int he same position as your stock cam gears.

If you compare the AEM gears to the stock ones, teh timing marks are in different locations.
