Are there any options for the 420a block as far as incorporating squirters for the pistons?

I believe that Alain was pondering the same question as well. HE wanted to use oil squirters from the GT cruiser/SRT4 and somehoe incorporate it onto our 420a block.

Actually, he was pondering using the squirters for a 2.4L 420a, not a 2.0. The oiling journal is not out in the open on the 2.0, unlike the 2.4. I think that there will be a way to incorperate squirters on the 2.4, but there doesn't seem to be a provision for it on the 2.0.

i was looking how hard and costly it would be to fit the squirters of the srt-4 engine on the old 2.4 design, and trashed the idea after having a quote from a shop above $300

and I was also pitching the idea for the 2.0L crew

The reason behind the oil squirters is merely for cooling a cast piston in a turbocharged application. It's not needed when you go with forged pistons, most guys running 4g63's take the squirters OUT when they build their blocks because the oil squirters don't serve any purpose anymore.

For the cost it would take to machine your block to accept some sort of oil squirter, you'd be on your way to paying for a set of forged pistons. alaine95i4 pointed out the cost would be over $300.

I guess you guys and girls who wanted to go to great lengths to keep the stock internals might benefit from it, but no one else would.

My feelings exactly. I feel the endevour would be a waste of time and money for negligable benefit.

Aluminum dissipates heat very well, which is why i don't feel this would be necessary. The stock cast material doesn't.
