I've heard both, it doesn't seem to restrict airflow, cold airflow. How could that hurt performance?

The only time it does anything besides sit there and look neat is open up air ports higher up the intake tube when the filter element on the CAI is submerged in water. There's no HP gain or loss with just having the filter on, but it'll save your engine if you go through a deep puddle.

hey bro whats up? well the bypass is an excellent investment. I used to live in fl, there was a big flood. To make a long story short the puddle was more like a lake and I didnt know it. Well the next thing I know I was mid door deep in water. The car died and I used the starter to pull me through the crater. The result was a bent rod. The bypass works well and the reason it opens is when it sees a pressure drop in the intake. Apretty good investment. Well take it easy. Later mike

stage BIG custom mj racing turbo set up, built block.worked head, all tial components, hks evcez, spearco 992,oh yeah and a huge bottle in the trunk last run all turbo 13.8@108 no nos dyno'd at AEBS in Cali with 300+ hp to the wheels
