I have a 99 eclipse rs and it a 5speed.Is it normal for our cars in 1st and 2nd to jerk some if say your in 2nd and floor the gas and let off the gas real fast while your still in secound?Also if you are driving in 2nd gear around a parking lot is it normal to hear a slight whinning noise?

everything you said is normal, every stick i have ever driven is exactly the same, it's due to the torque and letting on and off the gas tapping in 1st makes the car buck and jerk. the whining in 2nd is normal too. I can't explain it tho in details.
