#55749, "Greddy EVO or Apexi N1? And other questions, please help!"
I'm looking for some input on what would sound better. I prefer a throaty sound, not the ricer fart sound. Also, I have a Hahn stage IV-V in a 97 GS. Do I have to buy the exhaust system for the GST? I called some dealers and they only sell the N1 and the EVO for the GS as a 2", but I need the 3" piping. Is it a direct bolt on? Any help is greatly appreciated.

with a stage 4-5 you DEFINITELY need 3" exhaust. You can buy the GST 3" Apexi N1 catback and it will be a direct bolt on!! I suggest the N1, sounds badazz!!!

I have the 2.5" Evo and I really like it. It is a direct bolt-up installation. You get gaskets, nuts and bolts for their pipe. While you're at it, you might want to get a new gasket for the back side of the cat, otherwise you'll use the existing one. Might as well change it while you have it out. I don't know where you're getting yours or how much you're paying. I got mine from morepowerracing.com. They had a good price with no shipping. Ordered it on a Monday and came in on a Thursday or Friday. Either way, it made it by the weekend.
You will love the sound compared to stock. Your left ear might go numb after a while. If it sounds good on a nt, it will sound great for turbo. Some people have some sounds clips around here. I have some but they're not that great. Sometime soon I need to make some. It's loudest at around 3800 rpm and about 2/3 throttle. It makes a sweet sound when you're slowing down and you leave it in gear and let the engine slow itself down. Especially if you're around buildings. There's an Explorer parked on the street corner down the block. I can make the alarm chirp when I ride by in the morning. And I'm not even trying to make it loud.
Hope this helps. Either way, you'll like what you get.

Thank you for replying. Right now I have a custom non mandrel bent 3" exhaust with the N1 muffler. My real concern was if it will fit directly without any work on it. I've been waiting almost three months for my car to be ready. Thanks once again.
