I just bought a 2g a few months ago, so I am still learning stuff everyday. I did do some research on past forums but can't find a definite answer. What is the difference between the stock RS and stock GS-T cat back exhausts? Is it a larger pipe, are either of them mandrel bent? I am looking to get an Extreme Motorsports header, a GS-T cat back pipe with a Flowmaster American Thunder axle back pipe and muffler. Do you think this will sound good? I am looking for that deep throaty sound. No bumblebees wanted here. Will the flowmaster constrict some air flow because of its baffle design? Would I be better off with he stock GS-T muffler? All input is greatly appreciated.

Basically the differences between an RS and a GS-T cat back system are that the GS-T has 2 resonators instead of 1 like the RS does, and the GS-T muffler is designed to be much more free flowing than the stock RS muffler, due to the fact that the turbo on the GS-T has to breathe better than our stock RS setup. The piping is the same diameter from what I understand (2.25).

About your flow master question, I have never heard a flowmaster on our cars in person, but I've read through the archives and found several posts from people that do. Most of them use the 40 Series, and the general concensus is that it is louder than hell, but doesn't sound like a honda, the people that use the 60 series seem to report that the sound is nice, but the exhaust path is more restricted than thte 40 series.

Our cars seem to benefit best from a straight through muffler design, however as an entry level exhaust mod, the GS-T muffler is an excellent choice, providing enough flow to handle your exhaust needs up to around 200 Horse Power or so. Past that you are most likely going to be Turbo'ed at which point a cat back system with larger diameter piping (2.5 is a good diameter) is your best choice. APEX-i and Greddy seem to make the best from what I read. There are others that i"m sure do an equally good job and still sound good.
