#55705, "car dies while taking long turns WtF help!!"

I was having hesitation problems before while driving but not much anymore after doing a few things. But when I take a long turn like off a highway in 2nd or 3rd gear at 25-30 mph the rpms will just drop and unless i press the gas I stall. Can someone please help me. This is so annoying

My dad's Neon does this sort of thing. I haven't really had time to trouble shoot it yet, but they said on the Neons board that their coil packs can act up sometimes. They suggested I idle the car with the coil unbolted and then move the coil around. Lean it to one side (like in a sweeper) and see if anything changes. If so, well, problem found. I don't know this works on OUR cars, but it's worth a try and that way I didn't just give you an empty bump.

bump

BTW< wehre is the coil?
Sorry if it sound stupid.
But I always thought the coil is the thing that gives power to the spark plug, (which to run the engine)

if you say unplug it, then the car still run?
Then that means I don't konw hwat the ocil is, can you tell me what the coil is then?
THanks.

we have 2 coils actually they are the pack on top of your valve cover. I think he meant that you can unbolt it, but leave it plugged in and turn it to a side and simulate a turn. If the car dies then that is the problem. I just have one problem with this, those things give out enough voltage to give a good jolt if not enough to stop your heart so be careful. If the car is dying do to that then it could be loosing the spark somewhere its not suppose to be... get my drift?

Oo. I didn't think about that! You think the guy on the Neons board was trying to kill me? :o Forget my idea. It's not sounding safe anymore. I would say to find another 420A and swap coil packs for a little bit and see if the problem persists. If it does, it's not the pack. BE CAREFUL DO0D.

Actually heres an idea. Would a really loose ground wire on the starter cause the car to cut off while taking a sharp turn>? Sometimes I have to jiggle the wire to get the car started.

No, the starter does nothing while the car is running. How about fuel level, if you are running low on gas, in a turn force pushes the gas away from the pick up, if there's not enough in the tank the pump can get fuel, you run out of fuel and die. I can't see a coil pack going bad at an angle...

michael that doesn make sense since it mostly happens when im low on gas like less then half a tank. Would this point out that my Fuel pump is going?
