I haven't seen this topic posted before and it may be because it is very impossible.

So as the topic says is it possible to put a 6g73 in a 2G? The Avenger comes with both a 420a and 6g73. So how different are the mounts on the avenger and what are the differences in the engines besides the obvious?

What would be required to do this swap if it is in fact possible and has anyone ever tried it.

B.

The avenger has a longer engine bay because of the v6 engine wriring harness, ecu, engine mounts, accesories, cross-member, radiator and different
actually like the gs versus the gst pretty much everything is different under the hood

and trust me you won't gain much because the v6 can only work, so far, with the a604 auto because it doesn't have an internal crank sensor, it is inside the auto tranny

Thanks! I figured there was a reason no one ever mentions it!

id like to add that you would also only be gaining about 20 hp and losing a huge amount of aftermarket support. ive driven both and im not bashing the v6 but it does not have the tranny or performance parts to back it up.

Would be nice to have the extra engine bay room, ERT is doing 3.5L swaps into the ASOG boys now. I just don't see there being clearance because the front fraim rail and bumper support come out a little farther.

Smooth idle? We don't need no stinking smooth idle.
