#5546, "UDP or Bored TB"

Which will give me the best bang for the buck? I know an UDP probably is my best bet...

With that UDP in mind? What am I going to be looking at $$ wise to have it installed and who will do it?

Or is it a better idea to take on the install myself?

Thanks for the help!

UDP will give you more bang for the buck. Pay for install? I don't believe in doing that. I try to install everythign myself if at all possible. If you have a basic set of tools, you can rent what you need to install the UDP. Do a search back and see all the tips people have put up on the install and see if it's something you want to tackle.

The TB is an easy install, the only "odd", at least somewhat odd tools you need is a torx screwdriver... sorry don't remember size... T15 maybe?

ultimately which do I recommend... both! but UDP first.

I haven't put on a udp yet....but I ported my TB and that gave me the most noticable performance increase of any other mod I've done, and it'll only run you $100 from howell to bore it. the udp will cost ya like 150ish+install.

oh, it's a T20 torx head to take the sensors off.

Can you notice a difference with the TB even without a ported intake manifold?

I haven't ported my intake yet....just the TB.

think of it this way:

your TB in stock form is 44mm, which is 1520mm^2, you can bore(or port) it to 55mm, which is 2375mm^2.

you can do the math if you like, but that's a 56% increase in area through your TB.
