Hey I read in one of the boards that if you feel air comming out from your oil dipstick when the car is running that there might be internal problems. Is this true? I can only feel a slight breeze when I take out the dip stick and place my hand there, i dont feel anything when I place my palm on it. Is this bad>?

hmmm if its like puffs of smoke ( sorta light )coming out yah, most likely its a internal problem. that happen to me when i blew something ( ring or crack piston .. might want to try and do a compression/leak down test to make sure. good luck Michael 99gs (broken) Motor being built now HRC Stage 2 8-Injector Setup Fully Built by July 25,2003 hehe 2GNT Member #32

Umm.. i don't know about "windage".. never really heard of that.. but i can say i had a headgasket leak twice in two different cars, both of which were causing blowby. if there is enough blowby.. it may come out your dipstick, but you will usually see other problems, like burning oil if this is happening. Smell your exaust.. or look closely.. If it is a blueish gray.. that isn't good.

If it's very mild I wouldn't worry could be because of the cranks disrupting air, etc down there. If it's higher pressure air, or it's smoking I'd worry, do a compression, maybe leakdown test and sets your fears at ease.

Smooth idle? We don't need no stinking smooth idle.
