#55198, "I'm desperate and can't figure out all of these problems, please help."

Took my car to Autozone and did a generic scan to try to figure out a few problems.

The scanner threw a bunch of codes:
2x P0172- system too rich
1x PO106- something about map sensor-- i forgot and not listed on 2gnt
1x PO108- map/baro sensor voltage too high
1x bank 1 sensor 2 not responding (downstream o2, no biggie)
he erased the codes and i unhooked the intercooler piping on the spot. The car ran smooth for awhile with no misfire, but went back to jolting, vibrating, misfiring, backfiring, running rich and dying after i got down the street. It seems to stutter a lot when i hit bumps on the street. It will still vary between idling and dying when i put the clutch in. I got out, raised the hood and fiddled with wires around the ECU. Every now and then i could get the car to studder by wiggling the wires. But, that's a mess and i can't justify if anything is wrong from just doing that.

Even when my car would idle correctly, it was still way, way too rich.

I don't know if it makes a difference, but the pressure readings on my AFC are normal.
Some people think my ECU is going out, i've also heard that it could be a camshaft position sensor since it dies when i put in the clutch.

I will have to sell the car if this keeps up and i can't figure it out, i can't take this anymore. Please,i need any help i can get.

you mentioned the camshaft sensor.. that would be one of my guesses...

how bout your coil pack? tested that? spark plugs fouled at all from runnin rich?

is your map voltage clamped at 4.7 volts?? maybe, if you are using the split second or clamper thingie(i used to remember what they called it) maybe it isnt working properly anymore...

good luck bro

forgot to mention that coilpack was tested, spark plugs have 60 miles on them. I'm using HRC's defenser.

You listed MAP sensor voltage too high as one of your codes, I would start there.

Smooth idle? We don't need no stinking smooth idle.

its cause of the SAFC being tapped into the MAP sensor wire. on the "key dance" its code #61. ive gotten it ever since i installed my SAFC 2 years ago. hasnt caused anything though.

OK.. i would start with the Map sensor being the issue, i don't know exactly what the voltage should be, but i'm sure u can find that out easy enoough. If it is an issue with the ECU recieving the wrong manifold pressure at idle, you can try to unscrew the map sensor, and let it sit outside the intake manifold. See if it idles any better.

If you want to troubleshoot the ECU i have a 15k mile ECU i'ld sell you real cheap. I bought it trying to troubleshoot a MAP sensor problem.. lol. My email is wakebord99@hotmail.com if you want to buy the ecu. (it is tested and works)

Today, went to a friends house and checked the following by installing all of the above on my car at the same time off his car:
cam angle sensor
o2 sensor
coil pack and plug wires
map sensor and his FCD
ECU

no avail. i unhook the vacuum hose on top of the throttle body and accidentally leave it unhooked the way home, and notice my car running fine all the way home. Maybe i need to put a check valve on the intake manifold instead of a vacuum plug. hmm.

maybe this half-ass picture helps some. i don't know where that vacuum hose goes, i tried to follow it and it looked fine. then it connected to a metal tube and wrapped around the motor and disappeared.

i took it apart all the way to the side of the motor and tried sucking on it and couldn't get any vacuum whatsoever from it
