i had the injen short ram and the sound at 3k could only be described as MEAN!! and now i have on my extension for the CAI injen, it doesn't sound as good IMO but there is definately a difference at a stop and at high rpms.. just watch out when it rains that's why i went injen cause u can just have the short ram and put on an extension whenever u want. it's a nice feature!! take like 10 minutes to put on the extension after the first time. but he's right the CAI makes a big difference.

yeah...i bought a cai the first time.......but since all this rain is coming down now and since i had a run in with some water i just took off the extension and made it a short ram......i cant stand it....i didn't think the difference between the shorty and the cai would be that much difference.......i thought something was wrong with my car.......im used to at about 4000-4500 having a jolt of power with the cai.....and now with just the shorty.....no jolt....it sucks bad....so too all the peeps with just a short ram......the difference is like whoooo hooo.....u will kick yourself after u get a cai....all u people with cai's no what i mean by jolt right??????

dfresh

will post more pics when front is painted

I remember thinking when I got the short ram air that all it did was change the sound. I could never understand why everyone was saying intake made a huge difference. Then I ditched the short ram and put in a cold air. Its a night and day difference between the two. I felt it everywhere in the power band. The cold air pulls sooner and pulls longer than the short shit.

Funny how you say "4500 you'll feel a difference". Also funny how thats the rpms our base hp are rated at:). Thats the eclipse powerband right there youre talking about. A little lower and a little higher and you got it. Even with my stock intake i can feel it pull when i hit like 3800. But once it hits like 4999.999 its over lol. Gotta start over again in another gear and come back up.

I did notice a slight difference though when i had my CAI. Wasnt night and day but it was something.

emoji

ps - btw do the tc lock up mod and watch what happen emoji

joe i need the cooler before i do that ... i understand thats theres and issue with heat and what not when u disrupt lock up ... so at least with a cooler ill run that more cool..

remy its funny u say that .... i was looking to actually cut my short ram at the end and attach it to the cai for a track only open filter application .... the way it bends it would lead right to the drivers side air dam .... which would be a good thing

well hurry hurry!!! emoji I thought you had already bought the cooler. You can still do the lock up mod without the cooler, just dont engage the mod until you install a coole emoji.

i was wondering if this was try, well from my experience, all the short rams that i have seen are 3" pipes, and all the cold airs are 2.5" pipes, is that correct? i was thinking of combining 2 shortrams 2gether and make a CAI but a 3" piping one. can somebody slap me if im wrong? thank you. and if im right, will that be better? thanks

Could someone hook me up with a writeup on the tc lockup mod? I did a search, and never get any info I want.
What can I expect from this mod?
Thanks !
