I was reading on 2GNT.com website that you can remove the stock airbox completely and use an generic cone filter on the end of the stock intake hose. Has anyone done this? If so where did you get the generic cone filter and did it fit right on the stock intake hose once the airbox was removed?

I had one on my car for 2 years before I got my Iceman CAI. I had a K&N, you just need to measure the end of the factory tube to make sure you get the right size filter so it will slide up on the tube. It probaly gave 4 or 5 horses for this mod! I think I ordered my filter from summit racing.

Removing the stock airbox is fairly easy to do, and about the K&N filter, go get yourself a RU-3130. It's a perfect fit on the stock air intake. made my eclipse throttle response improve by ALOT, plus it gives the car a nice deep throaty sound at full acceleration. good luck.

any major auto parts store, just go in and ask them to order you a K&N RU 3130 air filter. they will most likely have to order it, i don't think they stock it. but it only takes one day. later
