I have an oil leak on the flywheel side of the engine I pulled my trans down and I am looking but I cannot seem to find where it is leaking. The rear main seal has a puddle of oil on the Bottom of it but it is brand new. Vt built my engine. I need to know every possible place oil can leak from that side of the engine. I called vt and they suggested the oil plug on the side of the block but it dosent look like it is comming from there. I am getting really fed up and Am going crazy. Any ideas would be apprecieated. Thanks for your help everyone I really apprecieate it. I need the car back together and drip free by monday to go to class. Thanks Paul

The rear main, and that oil galley freeze plug are the only places on that side of the motor that can leak. Be sure to check your oil pressure sender/T fitting for leaks also, it can make it look like its from there. Could also be a leak from the bedplate to block connection, but that's not as likely..Also, the rear main seal's metal casing should be flush with the block..Could be the oil pan gasket, or could be a bad rear main/defective one..
