#55026, "HELP! I need some advice...think i messed up my car...."

I was in the process of switching out my intake and putting a new battery in my car...Well, I got his crazy thought to go ahead and clean my engine bay with that gunk cleaner. I covered the valve cover and coil pack and throttle body (that was all I was told-or read to do)and did my thing. I then washed it out, put the new battery in and it wouldn't start for a couple of turn overs and then finally started. It smoked for a sec but I assumed it was just everything burning off. I let it run for about 30 minutes then turned it off. I went to start it again a few minutes later and nothing. I wasn't getting any juice at all. So I diconnected and reconnected the battery and still nothing. I then took the battery back to make sure the battery was ok and it was fine. So now I am stuck. I have a 95 eclipse GS-do these have like a main fuse that could have blown-like the Hondas-or could cleaning my engine out have messed up my ecu? HELP...any feedback is appriciated!! Thx-Anna

When I first bought my car, the dealer had power washed the engine, and the first day I brought her home, I drove it into my buddy's garage and it never started again, not even a turn over. So I had it towed back to hell for satan to work on (For free thankfully) and they told me that water had settled on the Crank Angle Sensor or something like that from their power washing and that caused the problems.

Just a thought,

My insurance payment is WHAT now?!?

Does it try to turnover at all? When I first got my car, it would crank but nothing...After 3 weeks of checking things, ended up being a bad ECU. I called my local salvage and got an ECU for $250.00 and that was all it needed. Just another thought...

Have you tried hooking the battery up to a trickle charger overnight? or even a jump start? maybe the batt you got had no juice in it from the store, haven't heard of that happening but wierder shit's been true.
