#54887, "internals??"

I am gettin about 1500 back from school in about 2 months and I was just wondering about what all internals I could buy for my car. I am going to put a turbo on it. I am wanting about 400 crank hp. Let me know your thoughts.

alright, you could get the howell bottom end kit found here: www.howellautomotive.com which would run you about $1000 and then have a machine shop bore out your cylinders and all that fun stuff or you could call up vtengines and have them rebuild it for you for like $1600 or so. But you would have to search the threads a little to find their number. Hope this helps you out. And i think bill sells a bottom end kit. His sn is motofool and his website is www.gottude.com . good luck

winter project: custom t3/t4 turbo and some others

Well, they sell both an entire engine and just the kit. The rebuild isn't bad if you have the slightest inclination with wrenches and can read a book. (even I can do it). However, there is a post on here that talks about how bad the customer service is with Howell. I know for a fact that they tend to know nothing about the products they sell and it can take a lot longer then what they tell you for shippment. If I were you I would either piece one together or talk to MotoFool about it. Howell, I think, are just in way over there heads without knoweledgable staff. Just my .02.

Yea, I can vouch for what he ^^^^ said about howell. I own their 2.0 block and would only recommend it to people that I hate emoji. The $1645 for the motor at www.vtengines.com includes all the same parts that howell will send you, all the machine work (on state of the art machinery), balancing, and assembly of the block. I live about 10 minutes away from VT and I know their staff and machining equipment and I'm telling you, nobody will build you a better motor then they will for the money.
