Well my upstream o2 sensor decided to die on me. It smokes n I can smell the excess fuel not being burned off.Im plannin on getting a new one but I have heard lots of issues about getting the bosch or oem one. Id like to hear some opinions on what some of you guys think. Also I have no clue really how to change the o2 sensor. i learn quickly though. do you have to have a special wrench to take it out? all info and help is greatly appreciated emoji thanks.

I just bought the one that Napa had. It works fine. Real easy to replace too. Jack the car up on the passenger front (or the whole front if you want). Make sure the car is COOL since you will be working with exhaust pipes right next to you. And no you don't need a special tool. I just took mine off w/ a crecent wrench. It was tough to get off (as in it was really on there). Mine was a universal so I had to cut the wires going to the sensor then splice the new O2 in. Put some anti sieze (that came w/ the O2) on the threads of the new O2 and put it back in and torque it to factory specs. Not to difficult at all. Good luck.

whats up skater-

i changed mine last week. i bought an oem one from Bob Kise- it cost about 80 bucks.

oem one's plug right up so you don't have to splice stuff.

I sprayed liquid wrench on my old O2 and let it soak for about 15 minutes. it came off with a crescent wrench super easy.

the hard part was digging your hands past all the coolant tubes trying to reach the wire harness.

good luck...my car runs SO much better now.
