Let me tell you that the UDP was the most difficult thing I have ever done on a car period! Took me 2 days......let me go into a little detail of the things I had to do to finally get the damn pulley off!!! used a 2 ton 3 arm puller- BROKE IT; used a 5 ton 3 arm puller BROKE IT-but not before breaking a chip off the pulley itself where the arms where gripped- used a torch to heat it up for release(still nothing) 1 can of liquid wrench, drilled holes THROUGH the pulley and used a steering wheel puller(this gave me 1/8 inch of movement, the first and only movement thus far on the 2nd day) and finally ended up cutting the pulley in half around the base and prying it off the shaft! What a bitch! Just needed to vent there guys, hope no-ne else had this many problems with theirs!! Any other victories/defeats on the UDP please share!

There is a special tool made for removing that pulley.

http://buy1.snapon.com/catalog/pro_det.asp?search=true&item_ID=62714&PartNo=YA9740B&group_id=11920&store=snapon-store&tool=all

I have done it with a small 3 jaw pulley before using the stock bolt, but it is so much easier with that snap-on tool.

try the right tool- Crysler Harmonic Damper Puller. I just pulled mine off the other day w/ no problems...except that i had to undo motor mount and drop engine down about 2 inches to get clearance for the pulley.

Mine took me 10 hours (2 days) in 100 degree heat. I broke a 10.3 bolt in half. I can prolly do it now in a half hour. The first time is always the most fun (sarcastic look). Hopefully I'll never have to do that again.

I spent 3 hours trying to get the damn Alernator belt off and said to hell with it. $70 and an hour and a half later at the local shop and voila! (Got to listen to them bitch about it though after it was all over. Pissed the ever living shit outta them trying to get the new one on)

That was my experience with it anyways, If I had more time to mess with it I would have done it myself, but working 7 days a week, I can't have too much down time with my everyday driver as you could imagine.

My insurance payment is WHAT now?!?
