wrong. Once again i have saved some money for mods and my car decided to break. I now have an exhaust leak and my new front brakes and rotors are squeeking. Oh well its a good thing i dont have to spend any money this month. Does this happen to you guys or am i the only one??

that sounds about right:thumbsup my new brakes squeak too, it pisses the hell out of me!! i'm just waiting for something huge to go wrong on my car....nothing big has happened in a while plus i have to pay my insurance(1000 bucks). so i can pretty much be guaranteed that something is gonna go soon.

Yep! Not long after i get done spending 2000 grand on a rebuild, i find my trans leaking fluid onto my custom built clutch. Now the trans is out, and taken apart, getting a few new bearings/seals. Now i have to have my clutch fully rebuilt with a new disk. Luckily, the clutch builder is super cool, and is only charged me a little bit for it. This cash was going to be used for a few goodies to get ready for the Shootout! ohhh wellll..

Repairs come about every 3 months. In January I started the new year with $200 just in maintenance. It was "OK" so I figured I'd splurge on mods in May. I spent $1200, I got to enjoy that about a month..Now I got a dump tube leak and another "surprise" this past week.. I'm telling you I am on the ropes trying to not throw in the towel..

I just keep telling myself "the greater the risk involved, the greater the reward will be."
I'm flat broke and using the last day of vacation time that I have to take Friday off and maybe get this mess in the sig pic finished. (I mean, I've since got the engine together to point of having the head and intake mani/fuel rail installed, but there is still a lot of work to go...)

heh. love is sacrifice. it happens to everyone probably, except supra owners. but maybe it does and they don't bitch about it because they have money to begin with.
i know my car is gonna give me problems (only minor ones so far) but i dont see myself getting rid of it. i guess i'm young, idealistic, and attached to it since it's my first car (woulda had a white 95 gs-t but it was the one that got away ). the way things worked out is good though. now i discovered the bounty of information and innovation that is 2GNT and i'm prepared to deal with whatever mechanical challenges my car wants to throw at me (as soon as i get another one to drive during the downtime)

brakes going, rattling exhuast, squeek in the hatch, running 18.53e.t and thats the eclipse. Timing belt, new muffler, and a lady with no insurance rear ended me thats the civic. Even all this doesn't piss me off. Ive got a three month old son named Owen thats most important now. With being 6 weeks premature and being hooked up to machines in the hospital for three weeks all the other crap gets put on hold. Thank GOD for insurance! Amen

Back in the day I had a 97 RS (Burgandy of course )... it died (hit semi, long story... not my fault ) w/ 140k miles on it w/ the ORIGINAL timing belt. Only mods were exhaust & intake. It WAS the Perfect car, and that's not Bcause it was my first car. NEVER had a single problem w/ it. Purred like a putty & I got THE BEST gas mileage. I think the highest I've gotten was 42mpg, averaging ~37-38.
Then I got my current 99, TOTALLY different story. Let's C: 1) Oil in spark plug wells (Valve cover gasket) 2) Overheating problem (AntiFreeze leak) *) Replaced thermostat, coolant temp sensor, fan switch, clamps 3) Cracked TWO Thermostat housings (Ceramic) due to overtightening 4) 2nd gear Blocker Ring & Synchro, & Clutch 5) Head Gasket blown 6) Shredded PS/Alternator belts (plural) *) Replaced timing belt (Preventative) 7) CEL Timing Belt skipped tooth, redo *) AFX UDP & Goodyear Gator Belts 8) F*CKING Belts WONT STOP SQUEEKING 9) Car stuttering issue, unknown cause *) Replaced plugs & magnecore wires (all good) 10) Windshield Washing fluid leak, doesn't retain * ) Replaced cracked hose

I know there's more probs that I've gone through, 2 much 2 remember. I think just about every system has failed in 1 way or another. I will say, it's been quite a learning Xperience!
Here's 2 DSMs, can't drive them off a cliff... have 2 push them in Neutral

Yeah my car has had its ups and downs, but roll with the punches and you'll come out on top, I mean the car doesn't have to run.. but if it looks cool the chicks still dig you
I've had my share of problems with it:
-Rotors Warped, had them ground down -Rotors Warped again 1000 miles later, threw them into a river got real rotors -Crank Angle Sensor went bad first day I owned the damn thing -Driver door hing bolts rusted and my door damn near fell off, had to weld the hinge to the body of the car -Both mirror controls (non-power mirrors ) have f*cked up -Belts or pulleys (not sure) squeal like a mofo non stop -Factory radio needed a code to work again... Threw it in river and got a real stereo.
I guess the moral of the story, if you drag the bottom of the river by my house in about a year, you should be able to build a replica 98 eclipse RS.

lmao. the funny thing is we joke about my friend's CRX about getting a CRX Kit in the mail cuz he has replaced EVERYTHING on his car

A month after I get my car the clutch goes out on my way home from my girlfriends house. then in november some ladie decides to hit me. completly ruins my year. things still aren't the same. by the way no one has a spare 96 talon esi laying around?
