i have a 98 gs setup with a hrc stage IV, and i cant figure out where the damn idle set screw is, not the stopper screw on the front , the one that sets the idle. the book shows it to be on the back at an angle, but its not there. any suggestions, also when i run for a while sometimes, my idle sticks at 2k when i'm in park. i cleaned it with tb cleaner today so i'll see if that helps, but i still need to fix my normal idle, which is usualy about 1.1k i think it should be between .8k and .9k any suggestions?

We don't have an idle set screw on our TBs - the picture you were looking at must have been for the GS-T. The idle on our TB is completely controlled by the AIC(air idle control) motor. Are you getting a CEL? High idle can be caused by a vac leak. I would suggest checking for vacuum leaks.

try removing the IAC...(IAC or AIC, it's the same thing we're talking about though...next to the TPS on your TB) and pull/push the plunger out/in by hand.

Might as well clean out your TB some more while your at it with the sensor(s) off.

check your throttle body plate? is it flush closed when the car is idling?

i believe the turbo's only had the BISS (base idle set screw) to adjust throttle...and i thought the 95 NT's did also...maybe im wrong but i know for a fact that 96+ never had it. yeah, try the IAC..mine was shot.
