Well I want to clean the engine. How would i go about doing this? Such as maybe using tire wet, or i know there is engine degreaser u can use. But what is the Best Way to go about cleaning this? I have a bunch of things i got powdercoated and i want to put them on, but not until this crap is all nice and shiny. thanks,

When I cleaned mine I covered my fuse box and my ecu. I took some simple green and sprayed it all over the engine bay (make sure your engine is cold) and I let it set for a good 2-3 minutes. Then I took a pressure washer and went over the main block and did my best not to spray directly towards other little things such as coolant lines or electrical wires.

The best thing to do is obviously, engine needs to be cool. Use an air blaster first to blow out small pieces fo crap, then I only suggest covering your intake if its aftermarket, your battery, ecu, ect. is okay and should be reistant to water. Hose the engine down, and use any kind of soap, and a separate mit for the engine that you would not use on your cars paint or rims, rinse, and repeat the wash until your satisfied cleanliness wise. After washing, use the air hose again and try to dry the engine as best as possible, and let it sit to dry for a bit.

I waxed the underside of my hood as best as I could and used a bottle of spray (I'm unsre of the name) to spray the engine to bring out the black, white colors on the block and engine. It looked mint after washing it. Unfortunatly, I used all of it, so the cans are long gone.

I dont remember the names of the wash or the spray, helps a lot right! If your interested in finding out them, email me, I'll look into it for you.

unless you want a really serious clean, then what you can do(it was posted on here before) is just do like he said ^ and take an airhose and blow out all the leaves and little sticks out of your engine bay as well as little chunks of dried grease. then take a plastic bag(i used a couple towels) and i covered the sparkplug wells(you don't want water in there) and my coil. my intake, and that was it. i just tried not to spray water on anything electrical. then go buy some gunk from walmart and generously spray it on your engine bay. be sure not to get any on your paint or else you'll have to scrub on it to get it off. then move to several positions and spray from different angles. then wait a long time if there is really bad grease build up. make sure you get the really greasy spots well. then hose it down. if its degreased enough then take some tire shine, and spray it in there. makes it look nice for longer, but is made of silicone and leaves a residue. i did and it looked really nice for a week or so.

Having Problems? Heres my Three step solution to anything 2gnt related.
Step 1: Put down everything in your hands.
Step 2: Grab a lucky strike, Smoke it.
Step 3: Walk to the fridge, double fist some keystone ice, sit down in the shade, drink one beer, finish cigarette, drink other beer, roll a joint, smoke it, walk back to your problem, and in about 5 minutes the solution will come to you.
