Hi guys, Im putting in a stock TB as i am selling my car. Im getting a 25 and 31 CEL after putting it back in (had a jeep TB in there) i am assuming im messing up my vac lines or something. can someone please take a picture of the intake manifold area, showing the TB, and vacuum lines \from manifold to TB and EGR.......probably easier than telling me where they all are. thanks

It's probably just because you had the TB removed and the sensors unplugged.
As far as the EGR.. there's a nipple on it. Run a vacuum line to it. As long as it gets vacuum to the solinoid, its happy. Doesn;t matter where its from.

The 25 is idle control motor. Is there an open vac port on the stock TB that you reinstalled? Did you remove the plug from the idle port in the manifold? How is it idling - high? If it's idling normal then reset the ECU.
The 31 is the EVAP system. The EVAP originally plugs into the stock TB - in the vacuum port right on top. You must have moved it somewhere after installing the Jeep - cause that plug isn't there on the Jeep TB. Make sure you've got that EVAP line plugged into some manifold source. Also make sure that the harder plastic part of that EVAP line isn't cracked - its kind of fragile.

the idle is about 1500 except if i turn on the ac it goes down to about 1000. i will check the hard line. The evap has green on it right? which goes to the port on top of the TB. the egr just runs back to the back of the manifold right? i'll check for cracks, the TB gasket may not be sealing well is what i was thinking, so i'll try it again with some better rtv. thanks for the info, i'll let you know whats up

okay. i just took the TB apart and installed the pieces onto my old original TB main section. I don't know if the TPS is messed up but now idle is at 2k. its starts up at 3k, drops to 2k and with the ac on is at 1.5k.
i misspoke earlier. tube on the passanger side of the manifold with the green is running strait to the manifold, the plain one is runninghtrough the hard pipe to the top TB port.
somethings not right here.
i need some help getting this thing fixed. looks like my jeep TB wasn't the problem, shame i traded it

well, i took it out again...made a new gasket out of the same material as last time, took off the tps and put it back in the same place....installed it and it seems fine now. i wonder. probably the gasket, but would that trip the IAC CEL. the evap could go becasue of improper vacuum, could the IAC go off because of a small leak?

Yes it can. What happens is when the vac leak supplies more than enough air for idle the ECU starts closing off the idle port. The ECU will continue to do this util the idle port is all the way closed, where it basically can't lower the idle anymore. If the idle is still too high at that point, it trips the CEL.

well i was really dumb and made my gasket wrong. i didn't even notice until i made a new one, put it on and it worked. i looked at the one i took out and laughed at myself. i forgot to go around one of the ports, leaveing that area leaky. im a dumbass. car runs perfectly now
