Ok, being a 95 im sure you've racked up some miles. Dont go full blown performace. DSM stands for daily service mandatory.

What kind of basic maintanence has been done?
timing belt? very important
water pump?
plugs / wires?
have you done a compression check?

you need to make absolutely sure its running good before you 'NOS' or turbo.

Oh yeah, btw...chips do shit to our cars...stay away

I would actually make the first step as swap to a 5 speed. Much more fun to drive, and faster.
Then yes make sure the cars running in good order before you upgrade everything else, or put in a built engine.
And how much all of this will run you depends on your ability to do the work yourself, that money will stretch sooo much farther if you do it yourself.

Check out the power stages on the main page and see the path, having the 5 grand right waway makesthe path a little more open.

If you can pull/install yourself, you'd be surprised how far 2 grand will go. Imagine what you could do with the other 3?

I definitely suggest the tranny swap... emoji

If you have 5K, you should definitely swap a built shortblock in there and add NO2 or turbo. Make a complete plan now, and do it right.
