#5423, "loud noise"

My car makes this real loud noise that sounds like a bad bearing, but really loud. It's been doing it since I got it. We figured it was the throw out bearing, because it only made the sound when the clutch was out. We put a new clutch in two days ago (took seven hours, alldata called for seven and a half) Now it still makes the noise. It could be the heat shield on the down pipe, my new exhaust vibrates alot more than stock, but if I rev the engine with the clutch in it doesn't make the noise. Any ideas?

What about the flex plate? Did that get bent up while you were installing the new clutch? Did it look bad when you took it out? That's about the only thing that I can think of if it's coming from the tranny area. Otherwise, you can take your heat sheild off and see if that does it. But I don't think that will be the case.

The clutch we took out looked brand new, it must have been installed right before I bought the car. It has to be the throw out bearing. It sounds like a bad throw out bearing, but we put a new one in with the clutch. It might be something with the fork. The throw out bearings are made pretty cheap with the plastic tabs, but there's no way they could have broke in two days.
