Hey guys. I was just wondering if i soaked a head in acitone (which i did) would it ruin the valve stem seals? I know the rest of the head is metal, but the seals are rubber.
I have a new set of seals / guides i was going to put in the motor i am running now. But i was thinking the ones in there might be toast from the acitone so mabye i should put them in there. Too bad Ill probably never get the valves out cause the compressor is fakin $213!!
Think i runied the seals?

I can't be sure, but it is defenitely possible, as rubber typically doesn't like acetone.
What do the rubber seals fell like after teh soaking? Ifthey've been sitting in there that long and the acetone was going to ruin it, then you'd notice the seals would be either harder than normal or softer than normal.
