#53802, "Car problems... input?"

The car runs, then suddenly stalls. It happens over and over again. It won't stay running for more than a minute at a time, and sometimes won't even start right back up... Even when I'm accelerating, it will die. Other times, it will go - then loose power for a second (rpm drop) - then go - then loose power again etc etc without stalling right away.

My thought is it may be the fuel pump. The fuel filter was replaced about 1&1/2 years ago, so it should be fine. What do you guys think?

yeah, fuel sounds like a good culprit. probably the reason it takes a while to start up. the fuel has to travel through the lines. I bet it is either your fuel pump is dying, or you have really clogged injectors. try picking up some fuel injector cleaner and run a bottle of that through and see what happens.

Having Problems? Heres my Three step solution to anything 2gnt related.
Step 1: Put down everything in your hands.
Step 2: Grab a lucky strike, Smoke it.
Step 3: Walk to the fridge, double fist some keystone ice, sit down in the shade, drink one beer, finish cigarette, drink other beer, roll a joint, smoke it, walk back to your problem, and in about 5 minutes the solution will come to you.
If not. Go here: here

If still nothing, your trying to hard. Start over at step 1.

Good tip - I'll try that before I go and blow the cash on a pump...

No luck. Tried injector cleaner, tested fuel pressure, AND replaced the fuel pump. Still does it. I did notice it seems fine until the car warms up... Any other clues?

I am having more major problems than you are right now, but it started with the same symptoms. Car cut off on me numerous times when cruising and accelerating at 80mph on the interstate. It would come back to life tho if i stayed on the gas. Otherwise I had to crank the car back to life at 80mph. Sucks. I have brand new injectors so that should not be your problem. Everyone is telling me to swap out my ASD " Auto Shut-Down" relay. Kinda seems like that may be what it is. Cuts off fuel and spark, in the event of a crash, but may be faulty. Car is very hard to start much like a flooded engine. Right now it will crank like it wants to start but wont.

Hope this helps in any way.
