It is an interesting idea. I'm wondering exactly what you are planning to do and what the headlights would look like afterwards. As soon as you get a drawing put it up. Maybe someone could photochop it even if we knew the exact plans.

a guy at dsmtuners has that on his gs-t/gs-x. the air goes right in the high beam to his filter which is in a covered by a heat shield. pretty cool trick.

I'd rather keep my CAI and High beam+head light intact

but now if it had used for say the bump in the hood to make the ram air i'd be very intrested!!!

I like what ^^^ said. If you made a lightweight, insulated airbox to seal up against the hood with an intake duct, that might be easier for you and cheaper for us. Just a thought...

well, see what i'm in the process of designing is a ram air kit, with a nice looking headlight, of course with a hole, and bypass. i figured headlight would be cheaper to work with than a new hood. we'll see how it goes. i might look into hood though. thanks for the opinions.

i can kick you, higher than u can kick me.

a good spot for a intake pickip would be a t the base of the windsheild if u made it wide enough and transitioned into the filter...

the base of the windsheild is a high pressure arear across the head lights and the hood is not very high pressure...

You can have it cheap, fast or good. Pick any two.

If you want it cheap and fast, it's not going to be good.
If you want it cheap and good, it's not going to be fast.

air glides over the hood. I don't think thier is much Ram in your Air. I'm sure its helped drop your intake air temp a good 10 digrees tho.

i once made an intake that utilized the dr. side headlight and ram air... i basically added another tube to a short ram, cut a hole in a spare headlight, and ran the tube out of the light... affixed the filter on the tube and heard comments of "whats taht missle sticking out of his car" etc....

if it was one pipe, and didnt have all these crazy couplers everywhere, i think it would have generated a boost in performance..

i was used to the aem cai, and because that is one peice, the added couplers i had to use on my headlight intake created unnecessary airflow disruption...

if you could design it as a one peice tube, it would show some decent gains... but i think the aem cai will be hard to beat....

good luck either way.. i will try to dig up some pix of the system, but im not sure if my buddy still has em on his computer...

chop the front off of the hump in the hood, make it scoop down into a filter setup, as i can quote from office space "um... yeah, that would be great"

our cars would look bad-ass if the front was chopped off so it's no longer a bump, but a scoop insead.

Motofool. If you put a scoupe at the base of the window do you think the pressure there would be enough to make up for the air having to go under the hood and back towards the engine a little? If so I think I like your idea the best.

I think he's onto something, If you could make a scoop that was one piece, and curved smoothly into a smaller tube, say 3 inches in diameter or so, you could easily connect that to the intake which in our cars is right ny the windshield anyway. It would definately take a little works, but if designed right, the pressure created from the wind coming off the hood, and the air getting funneled into a smaller tube straight to the intake could offer a decent performace gain. Wouldn't want to take it out in the rain though emoji

Here, I got bored so I drew up a quick picture of a Ram air hood scoop / cowl induction style hood just for the hell of it. These are Rough Rough Rough draft pics just for kicks, tell me what you think, if they made a hood similar to this would you buy it? I might.

something like subaru's wrx would work.. its high pressure area.. enough for them to use their intercooler at that place.

Think think.. sky is the limit.

i saw a guy in washington (state) with a ram air setup on his integra (the 4 round headlight type) that was pretty sweet. he deleted the headlight and ran it likeyou were saying but i would like to see a ram air for the foglight since mine do not work any ways.

i like gregstoofast idea about how you can create piping that seals the half moon shape thingy next to our foglights (the one in which our CAI gets cold air from anyways) and lead the piping strait to our short ram and that should work rite? what do you guys think?
