OK, I just about have the motor back together. One question about the rods though. On the bottom of the rod there is a divit where the bearing locks into place, it's on teh top left of the bearing race when the motor is flipped over on the engine stand. There is also one on the cap.

My question is, do the divits on the rod have to be across from or on the other side of each other?

I hope I am explaining this properly so I can get a quick and correct answer. Thanks.

Do you mean do the bearing tabs have to be on opposite sides, or on the same side when the bearing cap is on? If i remember, the bearing tabs were on opposite sides. The eagle rods should have come with the caps on them, and there are some stamped numbers on the side of the rod that continues into the side of the cap. Its only on one side i believe, so i just matched that up when i assembled. But i do believe the bearing tabs are opposite of eachother. Someone else may want to verify that though. I know stock rods, the bearing caps can only go on one way, since the caps are "broken" apart when they forge them, so they only fit on one way, but i think the Eagles are cut different..

Yes, I just went out to the garage and looked at mine. Put them together so the numbers match up. If you notice each rod and cap have there own numbers. That way they'll always be a matched set.
