i think www.howellautomotive.com will bore it for 100 dollars.......takes like 2weeks........the hp increase really depends on what mods u already have.......forsay....u have a cai and bore the t/b u will get more hp rather than useing a stock intake.......the difference isn't gonna be that much though......i say about 5 hp is a good all around figure..........

This is gonna make me sound ignorant but I'll ask anyway, if I have my TB bored to 55mm locally, I will still need an appropriately larger butterfly correct? Not sure if butterfly is the right word, the round flap inside that opens and closes with the throttle. Anybody just sell the 55mm butterflies? Sorry if this is too far off topic for this thread.
95ESI-intake,borla,sportlines,kyb,tsw more on the way

check the stages section on 2gnt
throttle body cost: $0-$100 difficulty: 1, 5 if you bore it yourself approx. wheel HP: 5 approx. ¼ mile improvement: 0.1 sec if used with a cold air intake and a ported/polished intake manifold comment: Reduces restriction caused by throttle body and increases power in the upper RPM range. It also greatly increases throttle response. Can be done much earlier than stage 4 if you desire more throttle response, but typically does not improve HP much until other supporting mods are in place. This is because improvements to other parts of your intake path earlier on are more effective, as the throttle body isn’t the major restriction in the intake path.

And unless you know what you are doing do not do this yourself. A real bored TB is done on a machine, just porting it out yourself can lead to a lot of error and a TB that is not really round.
