but unfortunatly we aren't hondas so allot of stuff isnt made for our cars, i really like th concept behind the front mount apart from the fact that it would look sweet with my front but yea question is do you guys know where i can find just the filter or what i think to be a filter assembly if it comes down to it i'll just buy the kit for the civic but i would like to just get the filter assembly part and build my own piping, any ideas on this would be greatly apriciated

dood remember one thing when building this ..... rain ...... puddles...... make sure to install a bypass !!~~!!

They do have these for our cars. But no chance in hell I would trust a bypass valve. Rain is a pretty big issue with even CAI, I wouldn't chance it.

Seems like less surface area for water to soak or hit while it's raining. The way it is on that honda its angled down, i dont think rain would be that much of an issue. If the price were right i'd buy one and install it. Would be a bitch to install it seems.

the way it would mount with my front there would be no way for puddle contact and the way the filter is constructed it would be very hard to get rain in there well enough to even tickle the motor and i would never ever ever but a bypass valve on in intake for that i'll put my stock filter back on apart from those things dont realy do shit they fall apart and get sucked in and you loose a substantial amount of air and pressure there for totally making the "intake" useless

I thought about putting a front mount CAI on mine. I was just on there and there is less than an hour left and know ones bidded on it. That kit is around $220.00 new.
If I had the money right now I'd by it.
I tried to get the guys e-mail address(incase it does not sell) but I'm not registerd on e-bay and I could not get it. Can someone get it for me??

i saw them install something like that on tv once it came with a clear shield u can put over the front to block water, bugs, etc but still let air in

That thing was cheep enough ($$) that I wouldn't even feel bad hacking it up a bit. I don't think it would be too bad to install on our 2G eclipses & I doubt you'd have to cut any unibody to make it work either. Go for it, the look of a small intercooler to fill the front mouth @ a bargin price!

Dude as a guy who just totalled an eclipse because of hydrolock -- I just have this to say -- NO!!!! The difference in power from a short ram to a cold air is not worth the risk - think that hydrolock is a myth... it happened to me... it happens.

Do not put your X Thousand dollar investment at risk so that you can either have the car sound or look meaner!!!
