I had that code on and off for days now. Not really that serious, from what ppl here told me. Its prolly just a leak somewhere in ur EVAP system. Just check all your hoses for any cracks, looseness. Also check if your gas cap is screwed on tight. But pretty much, its just a CEL that says there's something wrong with ur emmissions. Ur car will run fine, but if u have it smogged (if ur in Cali), u won't pass the test.

(Wow, I can finally answer this question, thanks to the guys at 2GNT. Hehehe... emoji )

error code 0443 = your computer is trying to use SSL. ha. not really.

i've had that code for a LONG time. since i bought the car almost 2 years ago. it's pointless, drunk, annoying, and on crack. you can replace the EVAP canister, which is like $75 from satan and that will get rid of the code.

i also hear that if your gas cap is loose it will trip the code too.

You'll also get it if the seal is bad on your fuel pump cover, or any of the evap lines running from the tank to the EVAP canaster are leaking, or if the rollover valve on top of the tank is bad....basically anything that causes the fuel tank to not be completely sealed.

The "rollover valve" is NOTORIOUS for going bad on our cars that are boosted. This valve has a rubber diaphram in it, that can puncture in the center of it, becasue there are sharp edges of plastic underneath the diaphram. If this valve sees boost pressure, it pushes down on the diaphram, and tears on the plastic edges. I forget who it was, but someone on here took that valve apart, and filed down the edges, and it worked great. But FYI, the CEL that results in this rollover valve problem, is usually the "gross leak detected" code.. If your CEL is saying there is a prob with the solenoid, then check that first. Its under the front bumper, passenger side, sort of behind the passenger side marker light.
