you have the stock pulley, right? the rating for the 3 jaw puller should be 5 tons. make sure it's correct.

i've never taken off the stock pulley, i had my mechanic install my UDP. however, i did have to take off the AF/X UDP for my engine rebuild (slightly different tool used, it's called a "harmonic balancer removal tool", which is a thing that screws into the pulley, not like the simplier pulley puller that is used for the stock pulley), it was certinaly a PITA! the trick is to get the pulley as hot as possible (either sit there with a heat gun for an hour or so like i had to do, or get a good propane torch or whatnot) so the metal expands and loosens up around the hub. same procedure applies for putting it back on. just pop that sucker in the oven at 500 degrees or so for about half an hour. use mittens to bring out to the car, and a rubber mallet to wack the dam thing on.

Sup guys.
now I know why I can't fucking take of the crankshaft pulley.
remember last time I said I bent the freaking puller's center bolt, and still can't take of the pulley.

I did unscrew the crank bolt, and I did put like one bottle of WD-40 on that shit, and I did try to use a bar to rip that shit out..but nothign works..and finally I tried to use the puller and keep turning and turning and turning...and the damn bolt BENTED!!!

WHY???
Coz they fucking retard moron autozone guy gave me a "2-TON" puller.
I ASKED HIM over 10 freaking time for a 5-ton 3-arm puller...and guess what???/ HE IS FUCKING WRONG.
God I am piss. coz I finally have to cut the timing belt to remove the head and so on..
And the timing belt is BRAND NEW TOO... SHIT!!! SHIT!!! another $50 for nothing.

just want to let you guys know how stupid I am and how stupid the autozone people are.

Yes 2 ton puler won't do it. But I do want to make sure you are doing this right.

You said you removed the crank bolt. You need a crank bolt to push against to back the pulley off the crank. If you read the other thread I talk about getting a longer strong bolt to push against, and you only want around 3/4" of thread exposed at a time. Then back off the puller back out the bolt and start pulling again.

good point. when i did my rebuild and had to take the crank pulley off, i got the pulley most of the way off but then the bolt just kinda ran out of steam and i couldn't figure it out...

...so i faked it. i took an 8mm socket or something (basically, whatever i could find around that looked somewhat strong and would fit in there nicely), and put it in to the spot where the bolt goes, i put the bolt back in, and just continued to take the thing off. believe it or not, the socket didn't get stuck in there, it came right out. so, if you don't want to buy a longer bolt, and you're willing to run the risk of loosing a socket and making it so you can't ever put a bolt in there again (didn't matter for me, i had a new shortblock from howell emoji ) then go for my method.

Thank gusy.
I will try again today afte rwork.
Hopefully I can get the shitty crank pulley out.
Wasted me 1 week of time, and a timing belt already.

Well, I will get the 5ton puller today, and then burner. You guys said it will help burning it.

Well, Michael, I have to ask you this for clear and good understand.
What you saying about how to take of the crank pulley?

Let me tell you want I did first ok.
1) I loosen the crank pulley bolts
2) put the bolt back onto the hole
3) and turn the bolt 3-4 turns back in. SO now it is kinda like 3/4 out of the crank pulley.
4) Put on the puller, and put the puller center bolt onto the center of the crank bolt.
5) turn that shit puller!

Did I do it right?
Gil

Please explain in details... .I don't want to waste another fucking 1 weeks just to take thst stupid crank pulley off.
Thanks!
Gil.
