#52059, "Intake sensors on 2G Non-Turbo?"

I have an AEM CAI system on my 95 eclipse. Are there supposed to be any air temperature sensors, even from the stock intake? Would that be the MAS or MAF? I can't find any trace of any sensors ever there. If the sensor was supposed to be there but was disconnected, would the ECU go to a default value to control timing advance and air/fuel ratios?

Little confused because I see these "Performance chips" (a resistor)that you can use to fool the ecu into advancing the timing, but I don't even know where the origonal sensor was.

I figured there is supposed to be a sensor, and I might as well get a resistor to advance the timing. Am I wrong?

Thanks for the help.

we have a MAP (manifold absolute pressure) sensor....its the one at the very end of the intake mani. we dont have a MAF. we also have an air intake sensor somewhere on the back of the intake mani

oh yeah, forgot to mention...the resistor chips you see on ebay are shit. all they do is tell the computer that the air is cooler than it really is. our computers are smart and quickly learn their way around this...so the $50 or so that you spent will be worthless in a matter of days. spend money on real mods

Exactly, and not to mention it's a $50 "chip" (and I use the word loosely) for what could be done for pennies.

There are no sensors in the intake tube just in the manifold.

Oh ok, so all the sensors are in the manifold.
Thanks
