#51998, "Leaky main seal keeps leaking."

I had a leaking front main seal so I tore everything off and replaced it. I couldn't see any signs of a real bad seal. I know for a fact it was coming from the main seal because I cleaned it all up before I tore into it and drove it around the block a few times and sure enough it was the main seal. I could see the little river coming from right behind the crank gear. So anyway I replaced the seal and put it all back together. Drove it to the store and back home and it is still leaking. Yes, it was installed correctly.

So my question is what could cause my front main seal to leak if the seal itself is good?

TIA
Brian

a nick on the crank sealing surface will do that. doesn't take much at all either so you've gotta look carefully at the area. sometimes people scratch the surace using a seal puller trying to get out a bad seal.

Hummm, I hope that isn't the case.

Another thing that I noticed was after the second seal was put on it didn’t leak at idle or any other rpm while parked. But after driving around it would leak, is this because of the oil pressure?

Once I drove it around it would start to leak and after the leaking started it would leak while parked at idle.

is it a from mitsu or mopar seal. i have noticed that the cheaper seals tend to suck ass and leak.
