Previously, I posted about how dissappointed I was with the SPEC stage 3 clutch because it started slipping at the track with only 4000 miles on it. Well, I pulled the motor out to replace the clutch and install some new goodies, and I found that the input shaft seal to the tranny was leaking which caused oil to get on the clutch facings causing the slipping (you can say "I told you so" now if you want Dino ) . Soooo, the slipping is not due to the clutch, BUT there is one pretty bogus thing about it. I was told that the clutch disk was a 4 puck disk with sintered iron facings and a solid hub. What I found was a 4 puck disk with a sprung hub and carbonic facings. So, although the slip was not the fault of the clutch, I do not appreciate being lied to by the vendor.

I am having the clutch builder here build me a ferramic disk. I am testing it for him and if it works well, he will be offering it to you guys in the near future. Every clutch I buy in the future will come from this company. They know their stuff, are honest, and are very reasonably priced.

Did you apologize to the clutch itself? I was shocked that you'd post that before but I had not reason to doubt. I love mine, but I am not close to Stage IV. I too am getting goodies fro my tranny. I can understand the hate for a vendor lying..

Its not that I have bad luck with vendors, its that I had extremely bad luck with one vendor . I bought that clutch at the same time I bought the block, can you guess who it is?

That is pretty interesting, MAtt.
You'll need to get us the 411 on the rating of the pressure plate now. I'm very interested to get the "real" low-down regarding pretture plates available for us.
BTW, my 6 puck ceramic from our buddy Dan, really clamps like a mofo thus far. But I haven't yet turned up the boost.
