#51652, "More stutter problems..maybe clutch?"

I know for a fact that nothing is wrong with the motor in my car. Ive spent well over 3g's in replacement parts/labor. The only parts not replaced on the motor are pistons, rods, crank, and bearings. Now i was driving around today for about 30 minutes and towards the 20 minute mark the car started to stutter a bit in 4th gear only. The longer i drive the worse it gets, spreading from fourth gear to fifth, then third will start doing the same thing. Does this mean my clutch is slowly on its way out? The car has 140xxx and i bought the car with 80xxx. Do you guys think this could be the culprit this time, or could it be something else?

ditto
plug wires changed them and it never came back.
If your wires are shot, I would imagine you foul out new plugs pretty quick which would be why the stutter comes back. Good luck!
(PS - mine idles like new after the wires - just some $30 OEM at AutoZone)

chances are you're misfiring. Make sure the pcv connection from the valve cover to the intake mani is good. It's right by the coil pack.

i got new plugs and its doing it again, but at idle mine is worse... whole car shakes.

i believe you when you say your replaced a lot of shit.. im guessing coil, wires, plugs..... i bought plugs last saturday, but when i get my coilpack and wires in the mail i'm gonna get new plugs again, hey only like $8.50 or so.

could bad or old injectors cause this to happen? i plan on getting mine cleaned later this summer if it keeps up. (well, 160k miles i should huh?)

Well heres my deal. i talked with a friend today about the stutter, and he said its most likely my clutch. The car starts to stutter about 20 minutes into driving it, which means the pressure plate on the clutch has enough time to heat up and start to slip. The stutter starts out in fourth gear and driving longer spreads it to fifth gear, then third. My car is very sluggish and i cant catch second anymore...sooo this much mean the clutch is on its way out. Anyone?
