Hey sup everyone just came across this website and wanted to know something..

anyways i was driving down the highway today and was just fooling around anyways i dropped it down to 3rd and redlined oops. anyways **** happened and my serpentine belt heated up a little to much and i guess it expanded and went over the pulley anyways trying to take that off right now got the tensioner is that all i have to do to take off the belt sorry im used to working on 350's and the stuff were my hands actually fit in the engine bay hehe and the local auto shop doesnt have a chiltons so im kinda stuck could someone please help me out

The powersteering belt? If so, you may want to loosen the powersteering pump (plz correct me if i'm wrong guys).

yeah its the one running the power steering and the compressor doesnt look like i have to loosen the power steering theres a tensioner in between the two just i dont know if its spring loaded or not i got the nut off and trying to force the tensioner forward but i dont know looks like theres another swing bolt on it two

Hi. Please use periods. The tensioner is NOT spring loaded. Loosen the lock nut and then crank on the bolt counter-clockwise and the tensioner should let off the belt. It's been awhile, lemme check to make sure that I'm 100%.
***Edit*** I just looked. The nut on the wheel of the tensioner needs to be loose. Then crank on the long bolt to move the tensioner in whatever direction it needs to go. BTW I work on alot of SB BB Mopar, Chevy, and Ford stuff. You have way less room in an LT-1 than you do in these cars. Be grateful that this is not a Honda.

haha.... always forget to use those damn things. i feel sorry for people reading my post sometimes haha probably turning all blue for lack of oxygen. anyways yea i cant get the tensioner to move i dont know if its frozen on there or im not doing something right

Like he said make sure that you loosen the bolt on the side of the tensioner. It tightens the pulley to the tensioner screw. Then turn on the bolthead itself.

But... hit the bolt with some rust buster/penatrationg oil. Because if you use enough force and the bolt is siezed, you will snap it off... trust me I know... Sometimes it's too badly rusted and seized that you may snap it, hit it with the rust buster and try to free it. Also can use a torch.
