#51201, "Tensioner pulley just STOPS SPINNING when I turn"

Well I put my ps/ac belt on today after it shredded about 3 weeks ago, but neways when we first put it on, it would squek with the slightest turn, so i added some ps fluid that was layin aruond the garage. Then it wouldnt squeak, then however when i turn as far as the wheel can go you hear a horrible loud squek. I told my friend to turn the wheel while i looked under the engine, and when you turn real hard you see the tensioner pulley just stop spinning, and the back of the belt is just rubbing hard against it. So why is the pulley just stopping out of nowwhere? Its brand new. Does something need to be tightened up. TIA Guys

take it off, spin it with your hand.. and make sure that you've put it in the right way. I once accidently put mine on the wrong way and it shreded my pw steering belt infront of my eyes. If that still doesn't work then If you have your old one lying around then put that on just to see if that works. If it does then the bearing might be gone.

good luck

Ok I fixed it...for anyone in the future that searches and find this post, to fix the problem (well in my case) just tighten up the tensioner pulley by the bolt going thru the pulley and the bolt parallel with the lenght of the car on the tensioenr bracket.
