could be the map sensor. i know when mine was disconnected the car didn't want to idle or idled bad. but when i did give it gas, it was fine. might want to clean and check it and check the wires going from it. sometimes they get brittle and don't send a signal anymore. that happened to my speed sensor output. talk about scared!!!

Yeah, map sensor for sure. I had the same problem. See if you can find a wireing diagram and test all 3 connections from the plug on the map to the ecu and if they are good your sensor may have went out. MAP sensors are not cheap!

I had the exact same problem about a month ago. I think it's the EGR valve. Acceleration was fine, but at idle it dies, or at least tries. No CEL. When you crank it, put you hand over the tailpipe. It will pulse like one cylinder is bad.

I had a mechanic clean mine for about $80. He tried to find a new one around town but there wasn't one available. That's why he cleaned it and stuck it back on the car. Runs fine now. Try that.
