#50924, "My throttle is stuck, and I have no clue on what to do"
Ok, It is kinda funny on how this happened. I went down to the local hangout here in Pensacola, and when i was leaving this pontiac was so close to me i went to back up and I didnt see anyone so I began to reverse and Wham, I hit this guy. It didnt do any damage so I said alright then, its all good. Well this started a bad trend. Afterwards, This truck pipes me so I figure what the hell, Ill race him. We get to a red light and we take off, I smoke him and when i went to slow down, something happened and the throttle stuck. My wife is going slow down and i keep on saying I cant, it wont let me. I turn the car off and and coast till i can find somewhere to park and check it out. I park and get out and lift up the hood and the cable is stuck. I play around with it and check where it has the two bolts to adjust it and nothing. Play around with it somemore. nothing. finally i get it to shut and i am thinking alright it is all good. Wrong. Before i started it, i pushed the accerlator and it sticks again. I rig it just enough to get me home and now here I am. WTF could be the problem?????? I am soo pissed off right now. I dont know what to do. Someone pls give me some advise. TIA

should just be the throttle cable getting stuck on something. take a look at it in the day time to see why's it's getting stuck. later

We had plenty of light and it didnt look like anything was stuck. I will look again in the morning and hopefully your right. The only bad thing is I screwed one of the screws down a little too tight and it snapped into. I have to replace it tomorrow as well. I forgot to mention that though. What would be the best way to get it out? TIA

i would think maybe drill it and then pull it out somehow. i'm not an expert on that. later

Thank you for your help, I fixed the problem. I called up pepboys and asked what exactly could be the problem, and they said that either the cable is broken or it could be the throttle body itself. I took off the intake and low and behold, a piece of duct tape was stuck inside. It was a big relief. The reason why is cause a piece of my filter broke off and i had to patch it somehow. Thinking duct tape would fix it i patched it up and it has worked for some time now. I guess last night, since it was the first time in a long time that i have raced someone, it was to much for it and it gave way, which caused it to get stuck. Anyways, the problem is fixed and it only took like 15 min to fix it. At least I got in a good race before it bit the dust!! lol Thanks again.
